Vitallis Sanitas Solidarity Party
Usually, when we talk about Christmas, this is what comes to mind: parties, lights, ornaments, Santa Claus, and presents. However, the true spirit of Christmas is much more than that; it comes to remind us as well as reaffirm feelings and values essential to human beings. If we are aware this season can offer us more than just parties and presents, we can experience a real transformation every Christmas.
At the International Sanitas Organization in Brazil, we promote values such as solidarity and compassion with others by inviting our employees to adopt this stance. Thus, our Christmas end of the year party already has the lovely purpose of gathering all units, celebrating every achievement, and sharing with those in need. Hence, when we hold our end of the year event, the only requirement to participate is to make a donation of any kind.
This initiative has given us positive results year after year. In 2015, over 500 toys were collected and donated to children in charities, where there was no traditional end of the year toy. In 2016, we raised over half a ton of food (573 kg), which was handed to institutions chosen by our employees.
In 2017, we focused on those who dedicate their entire lives to children, wives, and family members but often end up forgotten in retirement homes. We want to share with the elderly in need, an audience which has been a Vitallis emphasis through its Promoting Health in the Best Years program as well as the Vitality Plan. All of the aforementioned is planned so as to offer personalized solutions for this growing public in Brazil and in the world. This year's goal is to collect personal hygiene items and geriatric diapers.
In addition, thanks to the company's support, we will start volunteer days with the help of our committed and supportive employees who will be in charge of delivering the raised items to nursing homes.
With this new project, we want to raise awareness with the communities we want to reach; therefore, strengthening our commitment to contribute to those less fortunate and what better time than Christmas?
