ENLACE The vision that binds us together

Christmas 2016 at OSI

Colombia is a country in which catholic religious customs such as novenas have become a tradition. This activity allowed different areas and teams to gather in the mornings to share typical Christmas food like tamales, buñuelos, custard and rice pudding. At the main offices nationwide, a special novena was prepared, in which all its employees and managers attended in order to enjoy the human nativity scenes consisting of our employees' children, sing carols by a children's choir and share lechona with arepas as a main dish.

On the other hand, the helpful and generous spirit of our employees was present by way of donated toys, clothes and non-perishable food items for thousands of children from the Guajira department through our Sanitas Foundation. Furthermore, the Cali's regional site arranged a great initiative resulting in the donation of sports equipment and board games for the most vulnerable children of this Colombian city.

In Peru, we designed a calendar of Christmas activities which including singing Christmas carols in different areas, giving away free turkey vouchers to enjoy with family members, breakfast with management and coworkers, Secret Santa and, one of the most important events, Santa Clause's visit to Sanitas Peru.

During the latter activity, which was done for the first time in Peru, the employee's children made a fun route which ended with Santa Clause giving them a gift and taking a family photo. The entire Sanitas Peru building was decorated in red and green, filled with wreaths, Christmas trees, snowmen, and nativity scenes, which in turn gave way to a very warm and fraternal environment.

In Brazil, Vitallis and its employees decided to celebrate this special day with "Solidarity Christmas", by distribtuing gifts and food to the children of the vulnerable communities of Belo Horizonte. The non-perishable food drive, gathering over 600 tons, donated them to the children at Seeds of Tomorrow Nursery, which welcomes 150 children daily, full time, offers three meals a day, literacy, care and affection.

In addition, we held the "Adopt a Wee Letter" campaign, which consisted of fulfilling the dreams in 180 letters of helpless children of the Aunt Francisca Nursery, located in the Santa Cecília neighborhood, in the Barreiro area. We provided children the chance to have a toy on Christmas. The response towards the drive was great and the authors of the letters were sponsored. Besides the team in charge of gift distribution some employees were also invited for the delivery.

¡Thank you!
